Exploiting energy at Sandler

For the sixth consecutive year, Sandler succeeded in increasing its sales to €247 million in 2012, up from €240 million in 2011. A programme of continuous investment in what is now the largest nonwovens plant in Europe at Schwarzenbach/Saale in Germany has seen staff rise to 570 and in the last five years the company has invested €60 million in new manufacturing lines. A new €6.5 million meltblown line is the latest installation.

Among the wide range of nonwovens the company will display at the forthcoming IDEA13 in Miami are spunlaced 100% biodegradable wipes with unique hydro-embossed designs. Sandler’s bio-textile biodegradable wipe substrate has been nominated for an Achievement Award in the Raw Materials category at the show.
