At the forthcoming Idea 2013 in Miami, RKW will be showcasing the products of the latest member of its expanding global family of companies, RKW Danafilms. The acquisition of Danafilms now allows RKW to offer its extremely successful range of Hyfol films to the US hygiene and medical markets from its facility in Franklin, Kentucky, one of the operation’s two technical film manufacturing sites in the US and where a $12 million new extrusion line was installed in 2011. “This is an exciting time for us in the US,” says Franklin Smith, president of RKW Danafilms. “The addition of this new business offers challenges and opportunities and the investments that RKW has made in the company since its acquisition of RKW Danafilms allows us to contribute in a positive and healthy fashion to the hygiene markets.” “Idea 2013 is the ideal platform from which to propel RKW Danafilms onto the hygiene and medical markets in North America,” added Patricia Featherstone, director marketing and communications for RKW’s Hygiene business. “We are bringing new technology and innovation to the market that prospective customers are eager to snap up. As a team, we are confident that the Hyfol films that were developed in Germany will prove an out-and-out benefit to the market here in the States.” |
