Composting is one of the most effective methods of decomposing readily usable organic material and at the same time improving a garden’s soil, and now wipes based on Lenzing fibres can go out with the kitchen waste. Nonwovens made of 100% Tencel and Lenzing Viscose are based on the renewable wood and are biodegradable within just a few weeks, as has been recognised by Din Certco certification since 2008. In addition, the two cellulose fibres were recently awarded the ‘OK compost HOME’ label. “The logo ‘OK compost HOME’ from Vinçotte is a further decisive step which clearly distinguishes us from the competition,” says Elisabeth Stanger marketing director for Lenzing Nonwovens. “Household wipes made of 100% Tencel and Lenzing Viscose can be effectively and harmlessly added to kitchen waste and put directly in the garden composter. As a result, the botanic cycle is completed for consumers, starting with the renewable raw material wood and ending with the return to nature.” Lenzing now not only offers its customers an extensive product range of environmental awards complemented by a logo for home composting, but also professional support in further certification along the distribution chain. |
