Positive progress for Politex

LCA studies recently concluded at its plants in Italy and France show that industrial nonwovens manufacturer Freudenberg Politex has reduced its overall carbon footprint by 5% – corresponding to 4,800 tons of CO2 emissions – in 12 months, and by as much as 40% for specific operations.

The company’s comprehensive strategy for sustainable development consists of a range of activities and specific improvement targets in the different areas of the supply chain, from intensive research on renewable resources and raw material consumption to processes optimization and waste reduction programmes. In addition, energy efficiency and water management have been thoroughly examined and work has been carried out on finished product optimization.
