Gevo has filed lawsuits in the US District Court for the Eastern District in Marshall, Texas, charging DuPont, BP and their joint venture Butama Advanced Biofuels (Butamax) with patent infringement.
Among other developments, Gevo of Englewood, Colorado, supplies the para-xylene derived from isobutanol which has been used by Japan’s Toray to manufacture what it is claiming as the first 100% renewable polyester fibres, which are of considerable interest to the nonwovens industry.
