Consumer major Unilever is currently pursuing a strategy of doubling the company’s size without in any way increasing its environmental impact. How this will be achieved will be explained by Graham Cross, Unilever’s director of commercial alliances, at the forthcoming Outlook personal care products conference organised by nonwovens body EDANA. Mr Cross will explain how partnerships up and down the supply chain are crucial to Unilever’s future success and discuss the key approaches it is taking to develop them. Also at the conference, which takes place at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos in Barcelon, Spain, from September 26-28, Aurélie Palomba of Carrefour will outline the supermarket chain’s commitment to responsible sourcing and its move towards products that guarantee zero deforestation. Sylvain Chevasses will be on hand to provide in-depth detail on the French Ministry for Sustainable Development’s plan to introduce an environmental footprint for consumer products. The plan’s policy and legal basis will be explored and the methods and tools that have been developed for this “national experiment” will be discussed. Further details: www.edana.org |
