Reflective benefits

A new range of composite fabrics combining spunbond nonwovens with reflective foils and metallised films has been launched by Don & Low, offering benefits in a number of end-use applications, notably in construction.

The new materials are strong, flexible and durable, with their low emissivity, reflective surface acting as a radiant barrier to improve thermal insulation. This allows them to either improve heat retention or alternatively, to assist in keeping items cool.

At the same time, they are breathable, allowing the passage of water vapour, while at the same time, being water repellent.

Potential applications include their use as flexible cover materials or as decorative reflective material – white on one side and reflective on the other.
