Positive benefits for spunmelt

At the recent EDANA Eurasia Nonwovens Symposium in Istanbul, David Whiteman, technical service manager for Imerys Minerals, outlined the positive outcome of trials of the company’s FiberLink ground calcium carbonate (GCC) with spunmelt nonwovens.

The addition of up to 20wt% GCC in polypropylene polymer can result in increased softness and opacity, while at the same time reducing both cost and carbon footprint.
