Bostik Egypt is in full production just a month after its opening – as suppliers rapidly follow Procter and Gamble into the country to establish a highly-specialised local hub. Adhesive product is being produced and shipped on a regular schedule, the company reports, and Bostik customers and allied suppliers are already finding that the plant is having a positive impact on their business challenges. “Bostik’s collaboration with its customers in the Middle East results in excellent high-quality products for the hygiene industry and other industries,” said Angy Lasheen, Procter & Gamble’s global material development leader for MEA . “As one of the leading adhesive companies in the world, Bostik’s expansion into Egypt strengthens the supply to our P&G sites in EMEA, which enables us to meet increasing demands in the region.” Cairo serves as a hub for Bostik to supply the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. According to Khaled Kleib, Managing Director for Bostik Middle East, the plant “is another step in the right direction to be closer to our customers and partners, making us even more responsive to their needs.” Hot melt technology Nordson is also pleased with the addition of Bostik’s plant in the region. “The opening of Bostik’s facility in Egypt further strengthens the overall service provided to the area’s customer base,” said the company’s general manager Akram Sahrawi. “The location choice of 6th of October City, which is close to major customers, means that Bostik can achieve a high level of supply security. And that’s essential to the market.” Building a plant in Cairo was a strategic choice for Bostik, according to Bernard Pinatel, Chairman and CEO of Bostik. “There are strong growth opportunities in this region and it’s close to local customers to whom our solutions will bring valuable benefits. By working together and building long-term relationships, we’re creating growth opportunities for employees, suppliers and communities.” |
